For a future-oriented urban culture, we tried to approach the problems facing the city by dividing it into external and internal. The external problem we pointed out was ‘global warming’. Due to global warming, spring and winter are disappearing in Korea, which had four distinct seasons, and extreme temperatures appear in summer and winter, causing many inconveniences to citizens living in the city center. Also, many studies are deriving the result that the ecosystem will be destroyed due to global warming, which will have a negative impact on the future of the city as a result. If that happens, Generation Z, who will lead the future of the planet, will suffer the most from global warming.
So what can Generation Z do to stop this global warming? It is ‘carbon footprint reduction’. Among the various ‘carbon footprint reduction’ activities, we devised activities that Generation Z can easily practice without feeling burdened in their daily life, and ways to approach eco-friendliness in a friendly way.
In addition to the above problem, the internal problem of the city we considered was ‘difficulty in maintaining a livelihood for small businesses.’ Due to the COVID-19 outbreak for two years, the ‘social distancing movement’ was implemented as a guideline by the government, and small business owners are suffering from economic difficulties, and inequality between classes is deepening. Therefore, we also explored ways in which Generation Z, who will lead the future, can contribute to these small businesses and contribute to the development of the local economy.
